Ritual: One…

I just stumbled across these photos from a trip to Indonesia last year,

a friend brushing his sons hair, their morning prayer offerings and duties…

the daily rituals,

are actually the big things.

Its a common thread in my work, Rituals.  This is part one of a new series.

Thank You…

Nathaniel and I met this man at a fuel stop about a month ago in Prather, CA as we filled up our tires.  He is 92 years old, and even though I could hardly understand him, I couldn’t help but smile and nod. I’m deeply grateful to him and all the others who have served our country…

An Afternoon in Cambridge…

While we were preparing for her sisters London wedding, Kelly Oshiro, I took an afternoon to frolic around the English countryside.  Tea and scones, Kings College, Cambridge, and a pint at a local pub made for the most delightful afternoon…

The poet Rupert Brooke often frequented The Orchard Tea Garden in Grantchester, where we had tea and scones.  One of Kelly’s favorite poems, The Soldier, is about this countryside, and is worth the read.
